Layout Sketches Research (Cover)




Welcome back to the blogs, today I sketched the cover layouts of the magazines I've been researching, and this is how it turned out.

As you can see, I inserted the boxes with text, digitally. You can see the lines underneath which come from my initial sketch, that I replaced with a digital design. I did this because I thought it looked better. I wanted the font to match too.

Anyway...


Usually dog magazine covers consist of only one main picture of a single dog and the cover lines around it.

Some have a lot.

Some have very few to keep the focus on the dog.

Although it is also common to add additional small pictures of other dogs. 



During class we discussed layout tips to keep in mind while creating a magazine.

You should always use a grid to make sure everything is going to be centered, arranged correctly and organized.


Have a consistent theme.

Contrasts and match accordingly.

Aesthetics might be the most important part of a magazine so consider these tips to make your magazine attractive to the audience.
