Selecting a Genre
Selecting a Genre and Audience on which to focus
Hey, Welcome back once more!! Today, I will be discussing what audience and genre I'm choosing to focus on for my magazine.
Genre: The genre I choose to focus on is pets, more specifically, dogs. This decision came from my love towards animals and my adorable puppy. She is like my baby.References: These are the magazine covers that I am choosing to model my own magazine after.
This is the magazine that I 'm mainly focusing on as my model. My interest of it include the title fonts, cover line fonts, the colors, and the picture as well.
This magazine cover is more formal in the way of the organization. I liked the bigger fonts to emphasize "Eat, Lit, Save." The idea of " Meet Rudy" has inspired me to do the same but with my dog Mia.
Cuteness Overload!!!!! How can you not love this magazine cover. From the color design, to the picture and the house style. What I love about this magazine is that its more like a fun pet based magazine for entertainment purposes, rather than just offering tips.
Overall, what these magazines have in common, is a colorful house style. As you might be able to tell by my blog and my posts, I am a fan of colors, mostly girly and pastel ones, so these magazines represent the look I am trying to go for.
Audience: My audience would mainly be dog lovers, but the colors of my theme and the content will target mostly females on the younger side such as teens and young adults. Ranging from 14-25 years of age.
Group's Prezi:
Notes: Some prezis talked about considering the human needs, selecting the role of your brand, attracting a certain group of individuals, and find a way to deeply understand them.
Reflection: At the beginning of my magazine task, I was debating whether I should do pets or entertainment. After doing some research I realized pets are too cute to be ignored so I wanted to focus on that. However, I still will keep the entertainment aspect on my magazine. It will be pets but entertaining instead of helpful on how to be a better pet owner.
