Editing Cover

DISCLAIMER: The set-up for my cover changed from the previous Layout post and this is how I    changed it to now. I  had an initial idea in mind but as the process began I  started switching things around as I thought looked best.

Welcome back, some bad news first and then the good news to end on a good note. So since this was my first time ever using indesign it was slightly complicated. Some of the changes I made even got deleted which was so frustrating. However, I managed.

THE POSITIVE SIDE

Indesign its not that complicated but I really took hours figuring out how to use it and figure out the tools. I got the hand of it... a little bit, so hopefully for the TOC its way easier on me.

NOW THE IMPORTANT STUFF

This 4 pictures that you're about to see are how my cover was looking throughout the days and changes. I chose to center the picture and crop the background out to make the main focus the dog's face.

1
At first, this is how it was, I did not love it. I asked for advice and criticism.

2. Here I was playing around with the colors.

3. Then, I decided to change the background to a gradient rather than a solid pink. I also edited the fonts and made the masthead bigger.

4. Here I changed the masthead font, removed the social media logos, changed up the colors and ended up with a cover that I am happy with.

I want to give a shout out to all my friends and classmates that helped me out with the editing and also gave me ideas. It was very frustrating at first until I started to like how it was coming out and I got used to the program. When I found out how to download your own fonts its where I felt really motivated to put my best effort into this cover. To be honest there was a point where I felt like deleting it and even picking a whole new picture for the cover but I'm glad I didn't.

Stay tuned for the rest of my magazine 😸
