Introduction

Get to know a little bit about me:
That’s me :)
Hey, my name is Yaneli Riancho and I am a senior at South Miami Senior High. When I was young, I always wanted to be a lawyer. I don’t know if it was because of my family and how they wanted me to pursue a career in stereotypical successful” jobs such as being a doctor or a lawyer, but the point is that it got to my head. I would tell them that the medical field was a total no, no for me, I hate blood or the idea of it, so law it is. When my sister and my brother argue, or when my parents go off on one of them with no good reason, I'm usually the type to defend them depending on who is, with reasoning, right at least in my point of view, I try to be fair. As I got older though, I started liking psychology and the things people do, why they do it, what's the reasoning behind it. Everyone has different perspectives, why and how do people do things sometimes. I live in Miami; I don’t think psychology is the best choice for good money. So, I thought why not combine both. I’m sure a lot of people are not quite sure what they want to major in by now, I mean they have an idea of it but are not certain of a specific major. Me, on the other hand, ever since my junior year I had a list of majors I was interested in and started narrowing it down, but now I know I want to study criminal justice and then go to law school. A bunch of my friends are amazed in how I seem so determined and so informed. Honestly, I don’t really think of it that way, I’m thinking of my future constantly and I like to plan things out, I like to be ready and I like to have backup plans. I don’t know if that's necessarily a good or bad thing, some say you should live in the present and let things flow but that’s just the way I am. I don’t let things “flow,” I do quite the opposite. Again, I'm not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing but nobody's perfect right?
Anyway, my hobbies. Every time I get asked this, I go blank. That’s something I want to change in my life, I don't have any “hobbies.” I was a cheerleader for two years and I would use that as my “hobbies” but I quit this year because it got to the point where I felt forced to go to practice and it was just mentally draining to push something when I don’t have to. That's something I do a lot too, I try to stay consistent with things but I'm not a fan of routines, I like to change things up, spice them up. Enough about me, see I got a little carried away, so my hobbies are undefined, trying new things and living life.
My interest in taking this course is mainly because of the AICE Diploma. The school doesn’t have too many options and this one was one of the most interesting ones. Even if it wasn’t AICE, I would be interested in taking it. This course seems fun, my sister took it last year and I saw her magazine and the assignments she would doI was her model. My only experience with taking pictures is for my sister or friends for Instagram. I have a professional camera and using it in automatic is pretty easy. The closest thing to photoshop I've used is face tune which blurs out unwanted stains on your pictures. I have some background on studying media from my class last year, Literature in the Media, where we analyzed different types of media, from podcasts, to newspapers, to websites.
The topics I'm considering for my magazine are either entertainment or pets.  Entertainment because there's a lot of information on that and it’s one of the most popular topics nowadaysit's interesting as well. I think I can make an aesthetically pleasing and edgy design. Pets because I love animals, I love my dog and my new cats. I think pets are extremely adorable and deserve their own magazine. Here is a video of my cute pets (yes they get along):
