Photo Shoot Planning
Today we're gonna plan for the photoshoot!!!
For my photoshoot I had planned to take pictures of my own puppy in my backyard. It will take place outside because I have already tried to take pictures of my dog with flash and it does not look good.
*Disclaimer: I initially wanted to use studio light as you might be able to tell from previous blogs but throughout my process of trial and error I found it was better to use natural lighting.
I wanted to choose a day when somebody else can help me out. Everyone here is always busy or is working. I talked to my boyfriend to arrange a day when we can meet up in my house early and take the pictures. He is going to be the one to document while I take pictures of my dog.
Possible problems that could arise will be that my dog gets dirty since she's always messing around in the backyard, or that she just can't stay still for the picture. Let me show you an example:
The weather has been pretty bad lately so hopefully it doesn't rain. The first thing I need to do is groom my dog so I will call the guy who does it.
I bought her a christmas sweater at Petco for the holidays which I plan to use for the photoshoot. The guy who grooms her also adds bows to her to make her look cute.
I plan on getting pictures of my dog alone, which is potentially the dog that will be the cover page. The purpose behind the outfit is to show that it's the holiday season and my dog is part of the family so she has her own christmas outfits as well. I decided the cover would be a picture of her because she is the inspiration behind my magazine, to show that dogs are more than pets.
I also planned on using my sister's boyfriends dog for individual pictures and together with my dog to show a relationship but this is what he said:
So that idea is cancelled, however I'm still going to take some pictures of his pup.
Since it has been complicated to get in touch with anyone who has a dog I thought I would replace that idea with a cat. We have two cats in my backyard and one of them has become one of my dog's best friend so I will take pictures of them together. At the end of the day, the purpose of these shots would be to show a relationship amongst the pets which is actually real.
As unprofessional as this may sound, this photos will not have a specific date or time, they gather whenever they want and they play whenever they want so whenever I catch them in a loving position I will take pictures of them. I will try to capture it everyday.
Hopefully I get the pictures I want to get, Wish me luck!!
